The resort sits on the site of the former Rif St. Marie plantation on Curaçao's quieter west coast, in Banda Abou - fewer crowds, longer coastlines, and some of the island's best beaches within a 15-minute drive.
Guests consistently tell us the resort itself, is what they didn't expect to love. A 24/7 guarded entrance means you can let the kids walk to breakfast on their own. A dive center on the beach means you can be underwater twenty minutes after breakfast. A hiking trail behind the villa means the best sunset of the trip might be a five-minute walk, not a drive.
Behind Coral Estate, more than 2km of marked trails wind around an inland lagoon and through the hills of the former Rif St. Marie plantation - created by Stichting Uniek Curaçao for walking, cycling and running. A short drive further, the salt flats near Sint Willibrordus attract wild flamingos, especially at dawn and dusk. Most guests never see this side of the resort - it's behind the villas, away from the beach and easy to miss if nobody points you to it. It's worth the detour.
Feet in the sand, Caribbean-French cuisine served right on the beach, a short walk from your villa. Relaxed by day, atmospheric after dark - no driving, no designated driver, no fuss.
At Coral Estate Centre, with cocktails and elevated dishes and a weekly rhythm of its own: Green Egg Friday for grilled specialties, Sushi Saturday for Caribbean-twist sushi and Sparkling Sunset Sunday for cocktails at golden hour.
Fresh bread, pastries and coffee from 7:00–15:00 - the easiest stop before a beach day. From 15:00–21:00 the same spot turns into wood-fired pizza and pasta, eat-in or takeaway, for the nights nobody wants to cook.
The location in a beautiful gated community was perfect - safe, peaceful, and close to excellent restaurants and some of Curaçao’s best beaches.
We had a wonderful stay! We loved how quiet and peaceful the neighborhood was.
Don’t forget to head down to Karakter for breakfast or lunch on the beach. The kids also enjoyed snorkeling at the same beach!
