- When will I get my deposit back?
In most cases, the deposit is an authorization on your credit card. The amount will be released by your bank or credit card company after your departure. This usually takes between 5–14 days, but it may take longer depending on your bank. Coral Estate Rentals has no control over this timeframe. If you paid the deposit in cash, it will be returned to you at check-out, provided we do not need to withhold any amount.
- Do I pay separately for water and electricity usage?
Water and electricity usage are included based on normal consumption, except for Villa 85, where costs are charged afterward based on your actual usage. Air conditioning is the main energy consumer in the villas. Normal usage is considered to be about 10 hours per night. Before you check in, we record the meter readings, and we do the same before you check out. We calculate the usage and will inform you if it is above average.
- Do I have to pay tourist tax?
Yes, you do pay tourist tax — we refer to it as “guest tax.” This tax is 7% of the rental amount. The prices on the website are excluding this guest tax.
- What is included in the price?
Below the prices of a holiday home, you can see which additional costs apply. During the booking process, you will see whether these costs are to be paid in advance or upon arrival. This is also stated on your booking confirmation.
The prices shown on our website include the rental fee, initial and final cleaning, energy costs based on normal usage (except at Villa 85), and the use of towels and bed linen. Your villa is cleaned every 3–4 days and you will receive fresh towels and linen. Tourist tax and any additional extras booked are not included.
Reservation
- Can I place an option?
Yes, you can. We will hold the option for you for 7 days. After this period, we will cancel the reservation if we have not received a confirmation or down payment from you.
- Is a baby counted as a traveling person?
Each accommodation specifies the maximum number of allowed guests. This number includes babies and children.
- How many people are allowed in the holiday home?
Can additional people come along?
On the accommodation page, you’ll find the maximum number of people allowed per villa. However, the number of people for whom you’ve made the booking is the maximum allowed in your villa during your stay. This also means that visitors are not permitted. This rule is set by the Homeowners Association. If you would like to stay with more people (up to the maximum the villa can accommodate), you must inform us. An additional charge applies.- Can I bring my pet?
No, unfortunately, keeping pets is only allowed for permanent residents of Coral Estate.
- Can we also book with a group of young people?
In principle, you can book as a group of young people. However, you must indicate this when booking! If you fail to do so, we reserve the right to cancel your reservation.
- What is the procedure when I make an online booking?
If you make a booking via the website, you will receive a confirmation of your request by email. We will process your request and within a few days you will receive a booking confirmation along with the invoice by email.
Modify & cancel
- What if I can no longer make use of my booking due to force majeure?
Force majeure on the part of Coral Estate Rentals exists if the execution of the agreement is wholly or partially, whether temporarily or not, prevented by circumstances beyond the control of Coral Estate Rentals. This includes war (or threat thereof), staff strikes, blockades, fire, floods, pandemics, and other disruptions or events. Coral Estate Rentals will provide you with an alternative proposal (different accommodation and/or period) within 14 days after the occurrence of such circumstances, based on the rates applicable at that time. If you choose to accept this, the current rates will apply.
- What are the conditions if I want to cancel?
Cancellation of your booking, other than termination of the agreement by CES, is only possible under the following conditions:
• For cancellations more than 8 weeks before the start of the stay, 50% of the rental amount is due, with a minimum of USD 500.
• For cancellations within 8 weeks before the start of the stay or for early termination of the stay, the full rental amount is due.
The above amounts are exclusive of administration fees. These are always payable.
Cancellations must be reported immediately, but no later than 3 working days after the event, and must be confirmed in writing to your booking office.- Can I modify or cancel my stay?
If, after the agreement has been concluded, you wish to make changes to the agreement (accommodation or date), Coral Estate Rentals will try to accommodate your request. It is at the sole discretion of Coral Estate Rentals to decide how and to what extent these changes are implemented. If Coral Estate Rentals can move your stay to another date, this will depend on availability. You will not be charged any change fees. If we can rebook your stay, it will be according to the rates applicable to the new travel dates.
- How do I submit a change?
You can submit a change to your booking by email at booking@coralestaterentals.com or by phone.
- Can I cancel my booking?
You can cancel your booking free of charge in writing within 7 days after the booking date, unless the stay is scheduled within one month after booking. After this period, the cancellation conditions as stated in the rental terms apply (available as an attachment to the booking confirmation or on the website).
The stay
- Are beach towels provided?
Yes, beach towels are available in your villa or apartment. Only the pink or purple towels may be taken to the beach. These beach towels are replaced every 3–4 days.
- Is Curaçao affected by tropical storms and hurricanes?
Each year, an average of ten tropical storms form over the Atlantic Ocean, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Caribbean Sea, with about six developing into hurricanes. The hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30. During this time, low-pressure systems may cause thunderstorms and strong winds. However, the Leeward Islands (including Curaçao) are usually spared.
- What’s the weather like in Curaçao?
Curaçao has a warm and sunny climate with an average temperature of 27°C (81°F). A nearly constant trade wind blows from the east, becoming slightly stronger during spring. The rainy season lasts from October to February and is characterized by short, mostly nighttime showers. The average annual rainfall is 570 mm. Occasionally, a tropical storm elsewhere in the Caribbean may bring clouds, rain, or calm winds to the island.
- What type of power outlets does my villa have?
The standard voltage in Curaçao is 110 Volts. An adapter/plug converter (world adapter) is useful, as well as devices that can switch from 220 to 110–130 Volts. Most homes have both voltages available; often there is an additional 220 Volt socket in the kitchen for kitchen appliances. Be careful not to plug 110 Volt (kitchen) appliances into a 220 V socket using a standard travel adapter. The appliance will burn out. You need an adapter for this.
At the reception, you can borrow plug converters (from 220 V to 110 V and vice versa) for a deposit of USD 25, subject to availability.
- I forgot or left something behind in my holiday accommodation. How can I get it back?
If you forgot something upon departure, please let us know as soon as possible. We’ll gladly send any lost items back to you. Shipping costs will be at your expense.
- What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is possible from 3:00 PM. You must leave the villa before 11:00 AM, unless you have booked an early check-in or a late check-out. Click here for the options.
- Am I allowed to smoke in my accommodation?
Smoking is not allowed inside the villas and apartments. In most villas, smoking is permitted outside. Please check the specific villa for more information.
- Where can I pick up the key to my holiday accommodation?
Upon arrival at the resort, we ask you to pay a deposit of USD 500 at the Coral Estate Rentals reception. This is located at La Puerta Business Center. After passing security, turn left into the parking lot. Our office is located there. Once the deposit has been paid, we will take you to your villa and hand over the key. Check-in is from 3:00 PM. The reception is open until 7:00 PM. If you arrive later, please inform us so we can leave the key at the security desk.
- How safe is the resort?
The resort is peaceful and secure, with security staff present 24/7. We kindly ask you to respect each other’s peace and avoid making noise in and around your villa after 9:30 PM.

- Do I need a rental car?
Cycling to the supermarket or taking public transport to the city isn’t as common as it is in the Netherlands. Distances are quite large, it’s hot, and public transportation in Curaçao is not very reliable. So having a car is pretty much essential. Click here for more information about our rental cars.
Accommodation
- Can I drink the tap water?

- Where can I park my car?
You can park your car for free next to your villa or apartment in the designated parking area(s).
- Does our villa or apartment have internet?
All villas and apartments have Wi-Fi. You’ll find your username and password on the router and on the information sheet in the living room or kitchen.
- How often is my villa or apartment cleaned?
When you arrive, your accommodation will be clean, the beds will be made, and towels and beach towels will be provided. Your villa is cleaned every 3–4 days, the beds are changed, and you will receive fresh towels and beach towels. Please contact us if you have any questions about this or if you would like more frequent cleaning or fresh towels.
- Do you rent out baby beds?
Yes, we rent out a baby bed, high chair, and car seat for children under the age of 3. You can also rent a safety wristband from us. Protect your child with a safety system that alerts you with a loud alarm (95dB) if your child falls into the water. Click here for more information.
